I am not an expert on anthologies. But I get so many requests for them, I thought I'd start assembling some of the more common and most popular ones. I hope this becomes a useful tool to those of you seeking treasured, but vague, memories. Look at these pictures, story lists and dates and see if any ring a bell with your childhood memories. Some of these books are also featured on Collectible Children's Books pages, and you can follow the links of those to find out more about them. I've listed these anthologies alphabetically by title for your memory's convenience.

The rating and review is for that story alone; I have no interest yet in the other stories in this collection. I first read it in 4th grade and remember thinking that this story might as well have been written in a historical vacuum, for all that I've never read or heard of any story quite like it. Particularly considering that Elinor Mordaunt is not a modern author, I still have trouble conceiving how she must have come up with it. Imagine the "Taming of the Shrew" trope, but gender-flipped. The story starts out with a hilariously overblown description of a great scary prince--so overblown, in fact, that you actually start to take it seriously.

They just propel you into the world of the characters!. Those are quite well done and memorable! Tuesdays at the Castle 3 book series. It was in the textbook.

Vooks so many fantastic books I have loved in blog and comments thread. I've searched as much as I could through google but no luck. The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson is amazing. I would include the Alex rider series, the witch baby series very funny and how to train your dragon series too.

Its a cross between Hunger Games and Harry Potter…. I really enjoyed the Beyonders series by Brandon Mull as well. Grade Both series are good for boys and girls and if your boy balks at reading a book about a girl, do his future wife a favor and help him get over that.
