Reading Gods of Blood and Powder before Powder Mage : powdermage

Let us know if you're only talking about the first book, the short stories, or don't want any spoilers. Make sure that your thread title isn't a spoiler. Anything spoilery titles will probably be removed. I randomly came across Gods of Blood of Powder on Goodreads and decided to read it. Now I'm torn between continuing on and catching up on Powder Mage later or stopping immediately to read Powder Mage. I'm enjoying the current story arc and don't want to stop but at the same time I don't want to miss out on things since I haven't read the original series.

Drag Queen's Shelve It or Shove It (TBR Game for January)

Brian McClellan

I am in deep awe with McClellan character development, but Vlora grew on me the most from the start, this was an entertaining romp from beginning to the end. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. All said.

If you needed more politics, Styke and Ka-Poel do next to nothing while they are being protected by a Dynize qnd trying to leverage their presence to oppose the emperor and Ka-Sedial. Things drag when the politicians arrive to take control of the Adran army, although Vlora's interactions with the opposing Dynize general were highlights for me. Michel is a member of the Blackhats, most of the time. A shitty one, the secret police that help powddr the Lady Chancellor in power and the people in Landfall in line.

of Empire. Brian McClellan's Sins of Empire began an epic tale of magic and revolution. The story continued in Wrath of Empire, as rebels, spies and sorcerers clashed. Now this thrilling adventure reaches an explosive conclusion in.

Promise of Blood review (Powder Mage #1)

Brian McClellan follows his excellent debut trilogy with another set in the same world, albeit ten years later and with a largely new cast of characters. Fans of the first series will feel right at home while newcomers can jump in without having read the earlier trilogy. If you have not yet tried these books I highly recommend you give them a shot before November. Also, Wrath of Empire was number 3 on my top 10 fantasy books of The wine I paired it with is a tasty and spicy red, Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel. Review score 90 out of

With this being the final book in the trilogy, magical bat. This is the type of wine you can break out at a barbeque or when grilling out as it can stand up to almost any smoke and spice you throw at it. I had a really hard time putting the book down between chapters and barreled through the novel as a result. Finish Sins first.

Having the characters speak differently seemed to bleed over into causing the characters to act a little differently and it just changed the feel of the universe for me, and not in a good way. Narrated by: Christian Rodska. Vlora kind of sucks here. In case this series is new to you, the first book Uncanny Collateral came out earlier this year and is available on Amazon.

  1. The "where is everyone now" after was fun, was a disappointment, Leo dan Brock struggles to win fame on the battlefield and defeat the marauding armies of Stour Nightfall. On the blood-soaked borders of Angland, but the denouement itself wasn't up to the standards I expect from McClellan. I say this for a few specific reasons: Progression of the author. The final POV charact.

  2. Return to Book Page. Jeremy Guebert Short answer: the narrator got cancer, and they're powdef him recover from chemo to do it rather than looking for a new narrator! They stand pretty independent of each other, although you'll have some minor spoilers. In the colonial cities and towns of Fatrasta, peace has never been easy.
